Meet Dr. Josh Shayefar
Dr. Josh Shayefar was born and raised in Beverly Hills, California. He attended the University of Pennsylania School of Dental Medicine, finishing Summa Cum Laude and graduating with High Honors. He continued his Ivy League specialty training at Columbia University, completing a Certificate in Periodontology during his time.
Dr. Shayefar enjoys the field of periodontics and dental implant surgery as it demands great attention to detail and emphasizes the continuous mastery of innovative microsurgical approaches. He also has a passion for cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry, and takes great pride in creating beautiful and confident smiles for his patients.
In his free time, Dr. Shayefar enjoys playing water polo, gardening, fishing, and traveling. He also has a passion for teaching and serves as an instructor for implant and continuing education courses.
Dr. Josh Shayefar is a Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Los Angeles Dental Society, and the West Los Angeles Dental Society. He is certified in Oral Conscious Sedation as well as in Laser assisted periodontal procedures commonly known as LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure). He has been published in the critically acclaimed Compendium Dental Magazine and Explorer Dental Magazine. He also serves as a key opinion leader and consultant for world renowned dental products and materials. Lastly, he is the recipient of the 2020 Straumann Annual Meeting award.

Literally everyone in the office was a pleasure to meet. Dr.Shayefar, Nina, and Dr.Chen were very professional and welcoming. Made me feel very comfortable throughout my whole cleaning. Will definitely be coming back for future dental procedures and will be recommending to friends!
I was referred to Dr Shayefer by my dentist and had some concerns but Nina at the front desk was wonderful. Dr Shayefer was also amazing he called me at home to walk me through the procedure and answer any questions I had. Everyone at this office made everything go smoothly.
Coming from a hygienist, I know whether or not an office is able to provide a good cleaning or deep cleaning. Dr Shayefar is an amazing periodontist and personally did a cleaning for me. He was gentle and took his time to give me a thorough cleaning. He removed my subgingival plaque and calculus and my teeth have never felt cleaner. One of the best experiences I had a dentist office, everyone is truly a professional and very friendly!
I had bone loss around my teeth and other doctors said that I would have to extract my teeth. But I got a second opinion with Dr Shayefar and he said he could actually save my teeth. He gave me hope. So I ended up getting a surgery to treat my bone loss and I got bone graft to help build the bone to save my teeth and the procedure went smoothly and it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It’s been over 5 years and I still have all my teeth. I’m so happy I picked to Dr Shayefar as my surgeon. He gave me the ability to smile with confidence and the ability to chew hard solid foods again. I don’t know where I would be without him. My life is so much better now. Can’t recommend enough

I had gingival recession on several teeth and my teeth looked really long and I hated my teeth. I also had horrible sensitivity with my teeth, I couldn’t drink anything cold or hot. I did a gum graft with Dr Shayefar and now my teeth look beautiful and I have no more recession and absolutely no more sensitivity anymore. Thank you Dr Shayefar for making my smile beautiful again!!
Dr Shayefar is literally the best! I travel by plane from a different state to continue to get my cleanings and my periodontal care from Dr Shayefars office. It’s so worth it!!!! This is the best office ever! They are so truthful and never to try to upsell you with dental treatment. They are very conservative and only tell you what to get done if it’s absolutely necessary. I’ve always recommended all my friends and family here. Everyone is so sincere and honest which is so hard to find. So happy to have found this dental office!
Dr Shayefar has magic hands! He is very skilled and talented. The gum grafts he did are absolutely beautiful. You can’t even tell he did surgery there. It looks so natural and healthy. I never even had to take ibuprofen or any pain killers. I had no discomfort! And he called the day after the surgery to check up on me. That is a very sweet thing to do. Everyone here feels like family. 10/10 Dr and office.

Dr Shayefar did 7 implants and bone grafts and it was fast and easy! I was dreading it before but i had never had pain at all during the procedure!!! He is very good and also worked with me on my finances. Highly recommend!
Had an excellent experience here. I had all four wisdom teeth removed and it went super smooth. I was relaxed knowing that the doctors are knowledgeable. They do a great job making sure you understand the process what is about to take place and educate you on how to care for yourself moving forward. Would highly recommend.
